In April 2009, the JAC was designated a producer of Official Statistics under the Statistics and Registration Services Act 2007.

Results of all selection exercises completed since 1 April 2009 will be Official Statistics and will be released in accordance with the Code of Practice on Official Statistics published by the UK Statistics Authority.

The Head of Profession for Statistics at the Ministry of Justice advises the JAC on compliance with the Code and best practice and approves releases in his professional capacity.

The JAC has released two bulletins of Official Statistics, the first on 9 February 2010 covering selection exercises completed between 1 April and 30 September 2009, and the second on 1 July 2010 covering selection exercises completed between 1 October 2009 and 31 March 2010.
