Longer Term Programme

A guide to selection exercises planned to launch in the next three years

Please note that this guide is a longer-term view and supplements our forthcoming programme of selection exercises. Therefore, you may wish to check whether the exercise for which you are interested in applying is included in our forthcoming programme.

Candidates should note that advertisements for judicial posts within the Tribunals Service will not always be with the same Chamber. For example, although the expected frequency of Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal is approximately every two years, beginning with the Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal, Social Entitlement Chamber exercise, the next time this exercise launches, it may recruit Fee-paid Judges for a different Chamber.

This exercise guide does not provide precise vacancy details (such as number of vacancies, jurisdiction or region). Those details will become available nearer the launch date of each exercise and will be published in our forthcoming programme. We hope, however, that knowing the cycle of major selection exercises will enable you to plan your judicial career more effectively. The vacancies will be advertised on our website and in Judging Your Future (our email newsletter) nearer their launch dates. Sign up now to keep up to date.
