Mrs Justice Sarah Falk was appointed as a judicial member to the Judicial Appointments Commission on 1 October 2019 for 3 years.

Sarah was appointed a High Court judge in 2018 and sits in the Chancery Division. Prior to her full-time judicial appointment, she was a fee-paid deputy judge of the Upper Tribunal (Tax and Chancery Chamber) and regularly sat in the First-tier Tax Tribunal as well.

Sarah started her professional career in 1986 as a solicitor at Freshfields, where she was a partner between 1994 and 2013, and then a consultant. She was appointed to the High Court in 2018, the first woman to do so direct from practice as a solicitor. At Freshfields Sarah specialised in tax, working on a wide range of corporate transactions in the UK and internationally.
