Applications have opened for legally qualified Chairs for Police Misconduct Panels across England and Wales in some areas and will shortly open in others.
Misconduct Panels Chairs are independent and preside over serious misconduct cases in what is an important aspect of the disciplinary rules that govern the police and ensure a transparent complaints system.
Applications will be sought from qualified lawyers who can demonstrate integrity and independence of mind, commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, sound judgement and an objective approach to issues presented.
To apply you must satisfy the judicial appointment eligibility condition on a 5-year basis as set out in section 50 of the Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007
Some areas may apply additional criteria, such as the ability to speak Welsh for posts in Wales, or a requirement to live or work in the area.
This is not a JAC vacancy. Police and Crime Commissioners are recruiting for these posts in their police area.
Information is on the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners website.
